Aurora Borealis

After a few unsuccessful and teary nights, I was able to cash in on a bonus view of the Aurora Borealis near the Keflavik airport.

The aurora borealis form when highly charged electrons from the Sun's solar winds penetrate the Earth's magnetic field and collide with atoms (Oxygen and Nitrogen) in our atmosphere. These collisions result in a dance of light which make up the aurora.

With the naked eye, you would not see the above - you will only be able to capture this will a long exposure shot. My settings were f16 exposed for 5 minutes on ISO 4000.
